Hi Chrystal! I found this recipe the other day and I was intrigued. I'm not vegan but I am trying to eat clean. I love all the ingredients in this recipe.

I typically use almond milk in my smoothies to cut down on carbs because I'm diabetic. I also have a sweet tooth which is bad, I know! I also typically use greek yogurt for protein and to thicken the smoothies. I never thought of using avocados! i love avocados in salads and on sushi though.

My 15 y. daughter loves avocados too so when i mentioned using them in a smoothie, she was all for it. The other 4 members of our family, not so much. However, once they tried it, they were pleasantly surprised! We all were! The only thing my husband didn't like was the chocolate protein powder I use because it's keto friendly with very little sugar in it.

So next time i told my daughter to use the unsweetened cocoa powder and add tad more honey to his. I really like the fact that these ingredients are items I normally would use of have used in the past so i know what they taste like and I've heard of them all!

Plus, it's versatile. I didn't take a photo to share because i drank it before i thought of doing so. However, to anyone out there questioning how this tastes, it's absolutely delicious! It is thick even after adding extra almond milk to it, but I didn't mind that.

For freezing greens, we wash, pat dry, chop, and place in a sealed bag in the freezer. The avocado makes it thick and creamy in a way nut butter might not.

But cashew butter would be our top suggestion. Makes a wonderful, satiating breakfast. I toss in a tablespoon of Chia and about a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds. Gives a nice texture and adds some healthiness to the mix.

A slam dunk, and the light caffienation is good for waking up and for mitigating hunger. I have a large bag of beet greens to find uses for so they worked great in the smoothie. A really lovely easy recipe for a good morning breakfast go-to! I also did not have any protein powder and through a little vanilla Carnation Instant Breakfast in it I know, not exactly the greatest choice.

I still turned out great. Very smooth and creamy. Will definitely make it again. Instead of protein powder, I added some PB2 Powder. I also added a tb of cacao and a squirt of lemon juice.

I almost drank both servings! Im fairly new to smoothies but this one is very good. I put TWO stalks of kale in and it was too bitter — my fault. I put x3 shakes of Stevia in to try and alleviate the bitterness, but it was very KALEY!!!!

Lesson learnt. Would it be ok to use frozen avocado when a recipe calls for it? I just found out that Costco carries bags of frozen avocado which would be immensely cheaper and would insure I always had ripe avocado.

But would it blend and be creamy the same? Great recipe! I added Collagen peptides instead of protein powder and about a quarter cup or 4 pieces of frozen pineapple for sweetness and to brighten it up a bit, turned out delicious!

I was surprised this smoothie was so low in calories when I viewed your nutritional info. I thought the avocado alone would be higher in calories than those posted for the entire smoothie. Also, it would be helpful if the ingredients used in the calculation were mentioned when alternates are given in the recipe.

I make variations of this all the time. I almost always add 1 date, vanilla protein powder, and either almond extract or almond butter as well. And if I want to use this to create a healthy Sunday Brunch Brandy Milk Punch, I always add a little nutmeg and brandy too.
